the floppy little guy with the beak has been in your group chats for years. he's older than most of crypto twitter.
- 2012an artist who goes by Flork of Cows starts posting rough MS Paint comics on a WordPress blog, mostly to vent about writing code.
- 2016on march 19 the first comic with the sock-puppet characters goes up, and the guy with the beak is born. the strips move to Facebook and Reddit, and people start saving the panels as reaction images.
- 2017"hey man, you see that guy over there?" turns into a fill-in-the-blank meme template that everyone copies.
- 2021–22flork blows up in Latin America. Brazil puts him in every WhatsApp sticker pack (figurinhas do flork), and bakers turn him into "bolo do flork" bento cakes. one Brazilian baker's cake video passed 11 million views.
- 2022Heinz Brasil teams up with flork for a ketchup comic and pizzas delivered around São Paulo with meme lines written in ketchup. Ruffles Brasil runs a campaign where fans tweet fan fiction and flork illustrates it. the same year, the defense-meme crowd on Reddit makes flork the face of "explosive reactive armor" posts.
- 2023McDonald's France posts its own flork meme and it pulls 24K likes. the flork artist replies: "Mc Donald's France how about we collab".
- 2025the first hardcover, Flork of Cows Vol. 1, collects 200 fan-favourite strips.
- 2026on april 21, X launches Custom Timelines. in the launch video posted by Nikita Bier, X's head of product, the icon for the Memes topic is flork's head. on august 28, @binance posts flork staring at a BTC/USDT chart: "How to attract a trader". @litecoin, @CoinMarketCap and Binance's intern account post flork memes in the weeks after. in early september $FLORK lands on Binance Alpha, gets perps on Aster and goes up on a billboard on the Las Vegas Strip.
